I will face Matt Heath, a Republican, in the November 2014 General Election.

In the past 18 months, I have traveled over 48,000 miles and made 33 visits to communities throughout the North Coast. After eight crab feeds, countless breakfasts, lunches and dinners and gallons of coffee on the road, a home cooked meal sounds really good tonight! I and my team have worked harder and met more people in the district than any other candidate in the race. These results reflect our determination and follow-through to learn the issues unique to our district and engage voters and stakeholders in an ongoing conversation. 

I am extremely grateful for the broad base of support throughout our vast and diverse district. I couldn't have done it without the tireless support of my family, staff, volunteers, and community stakeholders--I'm humbled and grateful by your generosity and support. And thank you to the voters--thank you for supporting me in the primary, I look forward to getting to know more of you in the coming months.

This primary election was just the beginning! I will continue to build strong relationships, work hard to learn the issues, and travel the North Coast to meet as many people as possible in the next five months. When we win in November, we will be ready to hit the Assembly floor running in January of 2015.

So, hold onto those lawn signs--we'll need your help again for the November election.
