Over the course of our countless trips to the Mendocino Coast we have become acutely aware of the tremendous environmental damage being done on trespass marijuana grows.
Recently we had the opportunity to join the Melo foundation touring one of these abandoned trespass grows. It was both enlightening and horrifying to see the amount of; garbage, fertilizer and illegal pesticides still present on the site over a year after the law chased away its occupants.
A few weeks later we again joined the Melo foundation for the ‘Take Back the Forest Walk’; a memorial walk in honor of the late Jere Melo who was murdered in the forest by an illegal trespass grower.
